Little Friends is a unique nursery registered to provide 94 full and part time places for children.
However, in our vision to provide children with child care as it should be we offer only 80 places so that
children have far greater personal play space per child.
It is Little Friends Way to provide separate rooms for babies who are not yet crawling, toddlers who are just crawling and standing, toddlers who are new walkers, toddlers who are increasing skills, and our 3-5 year old preschoolers in our Learning Centre. Each child is grouped by age and stage with caring, qualified teams of staff who are practiced in forming sound first relationships. Feeling secure to explore the wide variety of activities and resources in our spacious and stimulating environment, the children are eager to benefit from their Early Years experiences.
We take great pride in providing an environment which nurtures learning for every child, every parent and every staff member - every day!
Owners Tom and Ruth Storey are qualified Teachers who in 1995 refurbished the Grade II listed former Egerton Street Primary School into the stimulating and spacious purpose built Little Friends Nursery that it its today. They retained the character of the original building set within a half an acre of outdoor play space and separate car parking area. Little Friends Building is 100 years old in 2010!
For the past 15 years our team at Little Friends have established a high standard of childcare and education providing quality time, space and opportunity for all children who attend the nursery. Little Friends Organisation takes pride in only employing highly qualified and motivated staff. 100% of full time staff have child care qualifications! Of those 57% of staff are qualified to NVQ 3 level, 14% are qualified to NVQ4 level and 2 are qualified to degree level.
Continued training and development of staff is paramount to Little Friends success.
The result is… Happy children feeling good about themselves!
