Teddy Bears Picnic

This years’ Teddy Bears Picnic will be held in the nursery garden on Wednesday 26th June between 12 & 1pm. Everyone is welcome, please remember to bring along your teddy, picnic blanket and your picnic. We’ll look forward to seeing you there!

Warm Weather Gear

Although we are being made to wait for our warm weather this year we are keeping our fingers crossed that it will arrive at some point soon! Please help us to be well prepared for lots of sunny outdoor playtimes by supplying items of sun protection for your child. Please ensure he/she has sun cream and a suitable hat with them each time they attend. Sunglasses are also recommended. Leaving these items at nursery clearly labeled with your child’s name ensures that he/she is always prepared to take part in safe, sunny play times.

Parent collection from Toddler 3

When collecting children from Toddler 3 please ensure you go into the room via the blue door on the playground, please do not walk through the Learning Centre unless advised to do so. We would still encourage that once your child has settled into Toddler 3 that you drop him/her off in the hallway in the morning to be taken through by Maggie/Nicky. This lays the foundations for your child’s future experiences in the Learning Centre and later at school.

Holidays

In order that we can plan our summer events and outings to include as many children as possible please advise us of any holidays you have planned using the holiday forms on the notice board in the hallway. Please also indicate whether you would like to take along a holiday bear.

Family Partnership

If any parents/carers or other family members have any hobbies, occupations or talents which they feel would be of interest to the children please let us know. We would really like to arrange for you to share these with the children either at Little Friends or as part of an outing where appropriate.

Environmental Health

We recently received a visit from our local Environmental Health Officer who came to inspect our kitchen area and related policies and procedures. We are very pleased to say that we again retained the 5 star rating which we originally gained in 2010.

Development Files

When you receive your child’s development file home to look through we would request that you please look through it, make any additions and return it promptly. These files are used and maintained on a weekly basis and it can become quite a mammoth task to update files that have been away from the nursery for a number of weeks. OFSTED Changes

We have received a new certificate of registration from OFSTED, which as always is displayed in the entrance hall. A new one has been issued because some conditions of registration have been removed, these being the maximum number of children we may care for at any one time, that we must not use the first floor of our building and that we must not provide overnight care. These conditions still apply, but as this information is included in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and also in the General Childcare Register Regulations there is no need for OFSTED to repeat this on our certificate of registration.
